Today’s Web Laureate Classic Insight into last Friday’s poem…

Microsoft: Bye Bye Bill

changes

come and go. frustrations ebb and flow.

in a time (right now) when it appears that new vigor may be emerging deep in the belly of microsoft, windows mobile 7 and project natal, perhaps the precursors, it is most fascinating, and perhaps even timely, to now look back to 2008, when frustrations and new revelations were all around.

when the "I’m a mac; I’m a pc" ads were most ‘in’ and the ‘thing,’ it was not too long ago that the news all abuzz the departure of bill gates it was. and out if it all came something most…

(are) fascinating.

not only have from noobs to gurus through the years been perplexed, complained, screamed, as they abandoned microsoft for the ‘apple train,’ but so too it was found that mr. gates, and was so revealed, a ‘new side,’ one shared with each and all, of frustration with the seemingly immovable heft that microsoft has/had become

Recently, we have seen a new side,
One which we did not know was inside.
For years we screamed and complained,
Felt ignored, and many joined the Apple train.
The products just kept getting bigger,
Demanding more from us, and each computer.
There was a lot of blame going around,
Whose fault was it for losing this ground,
Bill and Microsoft said to be evil,
With size and heft huge, unmovable.
At least now we know, perhaps a small consolation,
That even you Bill, by Microsoft, was filled with frustration.

Today’s Web Laureate Insight to last Wednesday’s poem…

placecast: a nickel, a dime

everywhere

you go nowadays something a cell phone, an app, a browser … all seem to be following you. and with that new more ubiquitous following of you and everywhere you go, you and those places that constitute the daily meanderings of your various ambulations and transportations be come more, are valued much, much…

styled hopeful with a touch of hopeful brevity so ‘bound’

more (less)

is going to place X worth a few cents to you? how about learning about a deal right there and then. delivering by game and by social platform, ads, and increasingly more, hopefully not painful as is so notably the norm of today. and in turn with relevance hopefully there becomes a decrease in their incessant frequency, delivering not only when or approximately so, but more accurately acutely to where.

to be worth a nickel, a dime
each place have gone over the time
wondrous as to be
that always seemingly
followed is me
in game and off social found
on foot and platform — bound
they do they quickly
until what was a mere trickly
becomes cast at all places surround

Today’s Web Laureate Classic Insight into last Thursday’s poem…

Brightkite: All By Myself

2008 — around

a couple of years ago brightkite was the hot location application in a pre-location app addicted world. a reflection into what was from a company that may soon be unifying them all, recently announced at sxsw soon, by way of check.in. so with none around, a poem more lonely and melancholy was sought …

before none

and before the addiction was at it is, it was often felt by many, maybe even myself — for I cannot remember my precise sentiment beyond my initial en-typing of this work, that location-oriented apps were interesting, yet lacked any real purpose in a standalone, strangely disconnected setting… it is in this setting that I found myself and few others, and by few I mean FEW for there was almost no one there where I went and went to look

All by myself
I am sitting here
No one to see
Less seen to do

Perhaps poorly chosen
My location of here
Seeming much less
That most over there

With too few around
And those too far away
I shall be here exploring
Alone, with none others, today

comotivate

together

comotivate leverages the power of groups to help you accomplish your goals

again

this poem is written to be read two ways. first, down each column; then in the same spirit with the same sentiment of comotivate with the two columns together accomplishing the same goal of a poem – whole — from left to right, two columns together, one row at a time
